Introductions and a Hint of Purpose

Seems like I’ve started typing so now I can’t be stopped so welcome to the blog!
My name’s Ben and I’m a 23 year old gliding through life a year after completing university. It was definitely a time to be alive but looking forward to what comes next. You can find out more about me on my About Me page.
This is my first post on the blog which I’ll use to focus on navigating productivity and wellbeing in our busy busy world. It’s also a perfect topic for me to wass chat so more content for you…
I’ll be honest with you, I struggle with staying consistent with productivity but I’ve noticed how important it is to support that with a healthy wellbeing.
There’s this two-way link between productivity and wellbeing where it’s hard to keep one alive without the other. Without looking after yourself or setting up a system that works for you, it gets harder and harder to get things done. It’s even more difficult when we’re restricted by this one fundamental concept that plays with us everyday. Guess what it is.
Time.
So what’s the problem?
Ever since I joined the 9-5 life, I’ve felt like there’s never enough time to do things. The clock genuinely sees me lock eyes with it every few minutes and in my head, I’m begging for it to slow down just a tiny bit so I can enjoy my day. I also get overwhelmed when there’s a million tasks that I need to get done, but for some reason, it only makes me procrastinate.
For example, does it sometimes take you days to reply back to texts from friends/family?

I sit there and think “I can get that done later” and then when “later” comes, it’s midnight and it’s time for bed. The tasks are important to me but the lack of urgency delays it to days later. This effects my outlook on time day-by-day.
When I knew that there was a problem with how productive I was, I thought about how I was already managing it and what I could do better. Nowadays, I’m seeing good progress and the simplest life hack I needed all this time was setting a routine and understanding how my (possibly ADHD) brain works. I’m starting figure out what exhausts me and spend more time on what matters – you don’t have to do everything. I’m buying back my time and leaning onto what I know helps to keep me alive (e.g. gym, socialising, sleep, money, etc.).
What’s next?
With that, this blog is for everyone. You have to balance your own time with a mixture of hopes and challenges which come with being human. So, I hope you enjoy learning from somebody’s experiences and thoughts. I have a lot of ideas of where to direct the blog, but what I want is to share the tools/resources available out there to give meaning to your time.
Looking forward to going on this journey, my things are packed and I’m ready to go, but are you?
